Lower Sundon Fields Destined for Housing and New Main Road

Central Bedfordshire Council has given themselves planning permission to construct a new road between M1 J11 and the A6 North of Luton. The land between the new link road and the current edge of Luton's built-up areas of Sundon Park, Marsh Farm and Bramingham - is expected to be filled with 3,000 to 4,000 new homes.

My photographs were taken in January 2020.

Branch Network

I love the patterns made by the tree branches near my home especially at this time of year when the leaves are not on them. It's simply fascinating to study the branch network and easy to see how the squirrels get so much fun out of the many routes available to them. There's a red kite regularly swoops down in the Close on the track of some rodent it has most likely spotted, whether it's a squirrel or a mouse or rat, I can't say. And then, if you're lucky you might also see the sparrow hawk that will attack things like pigeons and even squirrels if they get the opportunity.

Houghton Hall Park 2014 Animated Gifs Part 4

Back in 2014, Houghton Hall Park had not been touched by the Heritage Lottery Fund Regeneration Project. I was interested in Photosynth, a project of Microsoft's since abandoned. Many pictures were taken, uploaded to Photosynth, which then did its magic and created oddly flowing videos.

Houghton Hall Park 2014 Animated Gifs Part 3

Back in 2014, Houghton Hall Park had not been touched by the Heritage Lottery Fund Regeneration Project, but Microsoft was experimenting with Photosythn since abandoned. I took hundreds of shots of a walk around Houghton Hall Park. I've used the images I took for that project to create this animation (details see Part 1).
